Corporate phonebook
The Corporate phonebook is the most used intranet application. It enables employees to locate colleagues in the company, which
they need access to in order to get their job done. Today, the directory typically provides telephone and email information, and
adding SkypeName is a natural extension, which will, initially decrease overall phone costs in the company, but, more importantly,
establish new collaboration habits.
Enabling directly in the web browser page make the transition towards Skype easier.

The Corporate phonebook can even be used to introduce Skype to new users. When they click SkypeMe they can automatically
be forwarded to an area on the intranet, with download and configuration information about Skype, as well as corporate policies
for usage. The administrative tool can even create SkypeName on behalf users in the company. If so
the SkypeName will already be available for usage, and the system will automatically provide the password to the user.

Intranet Skype Architecture
Organizations that leverage an LDAP directory, such as Microsoft Active Directory, can benefit from Intranet Skype. Intranet Skype simply
adds Skype registry information to LDAP, so the information can be used by the most used intranet application - the corporate phonebook.
By adding SkypeName to LDAP various applications can leverage this information as needed. More advanced applications, such as
web project rooms, can leverage the LDAP directory in order to create online conference rooms supplementing the traditional web
conference room. Further, leveraging Skype, users can view when fellow project members are on-line - whether colleagues or business partners.
If you're using Microsoft Office 2003 you can even extend the Office Persona Menu to include Skype commands in the interface. This will
be available in both Office and SharePoint!
You can even leverage our Skype Outlook Extension in order to make the integration between Outlook and Skype even better.

Administrative tool
The Administrative tool is a small Windows application that searches the corporate LDAP directory for users, their email addresses and
their SkypeName. If no SkypeName is found, the tool can search Skype directory for users and automatically add any found address to
LDAP. The tool can assist the administrator creating new SkypeName for employees following a standard pattern, e.g. <company name>-<country>-<user>.
